A.S.K?by Araceli De MesaSep 20, 20154 min read Do not be anxious or worried about anything, but in EVERYTHING [every circumstance and situation] by PRAYER and PETITION with THANKSGIVING, continue to make your [specific] REQUESTS known to God. - Philippians 4:6- (AMP) This verse kept myself awake last night...There are so many things that comes to my mind. I've been watching the preaching of Jerry and Terri Savelle for almost a week now, they both shared.."God can answer your prayer but you have to be specific on what you want to happen in your life... If God will ask you, what do you want? You should know what to tell God. For example you want to become debt free, if God will show up and ask you, "how much do you need to become debt-free?...If you cannot answer that simple question then you are not serious about it. Honestly speaking, I cannot remember the time when I poured out my heart to God to ask something from Him since I know our Heavenly Father knows what I need before I ask him. Yet, as dearly beloved children of God, He wants to become a Father to us and just like how we ask our earthly father who give things that we ask then our Heavenly Father can give more than what we can ever imagine. James 4:2-3 says, (NIV) 2 "You desire but do not have, so you kill. You covet but you cannot get what you want, so you quarrel and fight. YOU DO NOT HAVE because YOU DO NOT ASK GOD. 3 "WHEN YOU ASK, YOU DO NOT RECEIVE, because YOU ASK WITH WRONG MOTIVES, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures. God is also clear in telling us that it is very important that we ASK God, ASK means, A - sk and it will be given to you; S - eek and you will find; K - nock and the door will be opened to you.(Matthew 7:7) So you're telling me, I've been asking God for so long but I still don't hear from God. Well it might be we're asking God with the wrong motives. How then can we have the full assurance and confidence that our prayer request will be answered? 1 John 5:14 says, "This is the CONFIDENCE WE HAVE in approaching God: that IF WE ASK ANYTHING ACCORDING TO HIS WILL HE HEARS US It all means we can ask anything but it must be according to His will. Most of the time our prayers consists of things that will benefit us, things that will gives us comfort and pleasure.Yet God wants us to ask things that involves Him. He should be the REASON why we want to have those things. He must be the center of all of our plans, dreams and decisions so we can have what we desire in our life. Psalm 37:4 says, Delight yourself in the Lord; and He will give you the desires of your heart." Notice that God wants us to SEEK GOD FIRST then He will give our hearts desire. God will check our hearts, He knows our thoughts before anything comes out from our mouth so we have to be careful in asking God. Galatians 6:7-8 says, Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for WHATEVER A MAN SOWS, this HE WILL ALSO REAP. For the one who SOWS TO HIS OWN FLESH will from the flesh REAP CORRUPTION, but the one who SOWS TO THE SPIRIT will from the Spirit REAP ETERNAL LIFE. So what's inside our hearts? Will God be pleased when your prayers are answered? You cannot reap a harvest without sowing a seed. Is God included? Will your prayers when answered will result to praise and thanksgiving to our Heavenly Father? Let us then check what we are asking from God. Take time to pause, meditate His Word and listen to God so we can hear His voice. God is listening but we better be prepared to answer Him and offer our petitions.I am fully convinced that God will grant our hearts desire when we PUT OUR FAITH IN HIM even in the most impossible situation because we have a God of the Impossible. Terri Savelle, one of the best selling author says, "It takes FAITH to THANK GOD while waiting for it to happen. Even you cannot see it yet, you praise God for answering your prayers. So start writing your requests, be well prepared, believe in God's promises for your life and consider what God has done. One day, we will come before God and I pray that we can imitate the way Jesus prayed; John 17:1 1Jesus spoke these things; and lifting up His eyes to heaven, He said, 1 “Father, the hour has come; glorify Your Son, that the Son may glorify You, 2 even as You gave Him authority over all flesh, that to all whom You have given Him, He may give eternal life. 3“This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. 4“I glorified You on the earth, having accomplished the work which You have given Me to do. 5“Now, Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was. May this verse touched and pierced our very hearts. With Love and Sincere Prayers for you all!... Ara...
